Thanks for the quick reply. I will make sure to do that.
One complaint I have is that, people put in a budget and my gig is over that and I paid for this lead but it was not a useful lead.
Interesting, I just turned on promoted profile and within seconds I'm at the top of the results.
Still not sure how this works though. I'm only paying if someone contacts me and I respond correct? And I'm paying at a discounted rate correct?
Am I paying for views or click through to my profile?
@Chesiaeiral glad you decided to give promote a try! Promoting your business gives you a rank boost, so it makes sense that you are now showing higher on the list. When you're promoting your business, you pay once a customer reaches out to you and yes, you get a 20 percent discount. This article here goes more in-depth about promote, the charges, and extra tips. Be sure to check it out and let me know if you have any other questions!
Attempting to clarify the costs of promotion. According to this article: https://help.thumbtack.com/article/promote-my-profile
"You’ll only pay for these leads if you accept or express interest in the job. If you decline, you won’t pay a cent!"
but
"You pay automatically for leads that match your preferences, whether you reply or not"
Which is it?
@Chesiaeiral when you're promoting your business, you pay automatically for leads that reach out to you and match your preferences, whether you reply or not. If you don't promote your business, you'll then only pay for the leads that you accept.
Is it just me or does the information in that article contridict itself.
Would also be nice if there was some way to know up front what I am going to pay. I can't think of any other place where you agree to pay for advertising (or anything else really) and are notified after you've committed how much it will cost.
Thank you to all the pros who participated in our Q&A this week! We want to make sure promoting your business will work for you, so we appreciate hearing your questions and feedback. Product changes take time, but we're always trying to improve. Check out a quick introduction from @CourtneyF where she answers some common pro concerns about promoting your business. @PaganoPhoto, thanks to you and several other pros for posting the question Courtney answers in this video.
As always, keep the conversation going and thanks again!
Thanks for posting this, but majority of the Pros do everything that @CourtneyF mentioned and then some. How about having @CourtneyF , yourself or someone else give concrete answers to all of our questions and inputs from this thread, and keeping us updated as to the status of all of our feedback? As well as keeping us in the loop for any changes that occur, even if minor. Just my suggestions.
