If you've searched the community and struggled to sort through confusing and narrowly focused topics, then you know how important it is to have a clear subject line and thesis.

Here are some tips on how to use the Pro Community forums so that other pros can search for and surface  your questions to learn from existing conversations:

  1. Search for your answer first
    1. Community
    2. Thumbtack Help

  2. “Start a discussion”
    1. Enter a descriptive title so your question will surface if other pros are searching for the same answer
    2. Provide a clear explanation of the issue, question, or discussion.
    3. Select a place to post your question. Results from your initial search can give you a good idea of where to post your question. You can also take a look through the Navigating the Community post to find the board where your question is best suited.
    4. Add a tag of your home/working state(s) if you feel it’s applicable.

  3. Come back to say "thanks" and recognize others
    1. If the answer you receive is satisfactory, click the 3 dots next to the reply and “Best Answer”.
