Calendar

What happened to the calendar tool? I went to update my April calendar with another booking for my church, and beyold, Look what I found!!!

We used to see the calendar right away when we clicked on the option, now it shows the following...And I am booked for the entire weekend of April 5-7! I blocked those dates out a long time ago..Now I have to reblock the dates so I don't get requests..Another change made without telling us. Why?

Re: Calendar

@DJStevie the calendar feature is still the same, we just updated how it looks. If you go to your calendar here, you'll see that all of your time that was blocked off, is still blocked off.

When you go to your calendar, you can switch between bookings and calendar.

Your first screenshot is showing bookings that have happened through Thumbtack. Remember, jobs only go there if you or the customer sent and accepted the booking request through the Thumbtack messenger. If you guys don't do a booking request but agree on a time for a job, you'll need to add this manually.

The second screenshot is showing where you update your availability. It's a quicker and easier way for you to go to certain dates. You get there by clicking the icon in the top right-hand corner of the calendar. You'll see your blocked dates in your calendar that I linked above.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Re: Calendar

@Meckell

How is this easier? I click on next to my profile pic on dashboard, click on calendar and get blank week saying "no booked jobs this week", when in fact I do have a blocked job. The blocked job came from either Thumbtack, repeat outside customer, or from someone who has my contact info. I block the dates myself!

So then we find the week not blocked off, click on the + sign top right, and we get the month. an extra step or two.

Now my question, as a DJ, if I block off this new way for April 28, for my regular church after service gig, 11am-1pm, I then block off the entire date, true? What if I want to take on a DJ gig for an evening wedding, party, or other function? I can't keep that time frame open, and if Promoting, I will receive a lead to pay full price for the evening gig. So how is that easier for me?

Who makes these changes/updates without notifying ALL Pros first. Some job categories it may be helpful, but in my case where I'm able to DJ 2 gigs that day, now it will show the entire day blocked.

Sorry, my frustration isn't at you, but at not being informed of a change, as well as having to figure out if blocking the entire day and risk possible jobs going to someone else.

calendar

I just had to update my calendar/bookings again!!! Why is it everytime I log on, and need to block a date off as unavailable, I find that previous blocked dates are suddenly unblocked. Any reason? I had to re-block April 27, and May 4. Getting tired of this!!

Please go back to previous calendar, and no booking section!!

Re: calendar

@DJStevie the calendar feature is still the same as before, we just added the booking section. Remember they act as two different things which you can read in my response to you earlier about this here. Just so I fully understand your situation, when you go to your calendar nothing is showing blue, it's all white?

Re: calendar

@Meckell

Calendar blocked dates are blue, no booking in bookings section. I updated bookings the other day, and saw when I posted this thread that it was unblocked, which I didn't do. I had to update it again

Re: calendar

@DJStevie did you by chance take screenshot of the error? If so, can you send them my way?

Calendar

I had a hole week blocked off in the calender because i got hurt on a job. But thumbtack seems to think its okay to send 56 dollars a day on average of prepayed leads to me. During the days i have blocked off. They claim if the customer states they are open to other dates its now there way of bypassing the calendar function. I thought the the point of having a calendar to block off days was to prevent being charged for leads that you're not available for? After talking to support personal and now management i now know thumbtack is not really there for its contractors. This calander function has not worked since i have started. They claim to want to fix it but then desighn a way around it for profits. I see alot of other people posting with the same problem. Whats going on ?

Re: Calendar

@bill1967 if your calendar is blocked off, we definitely don't want you to be charged for leads for those particular dates. However, if a customer is open to another date that you do have available, they will be able to contact you. I'm more than happy to look into this situation for you if you'd like. Just send me a private message with the names of the customers and I'll dig into it and see what I can do to help!

Re: Calendar

@Meckell you did not answer my questions? Even when a contractor verbaly tells thumbtack he can not work for a week. Thumbtack still feels that its ethicaly and moraly correct to push and charge the contractor for leads. Even when the calender is blocked off. You can not simply fix this. It comes from corporate down.All you can dow is bring the problem to light and hope they fix there morals.
