How does thumbtacks determine the price of a lead? Is it the 10% of what they think the job is worth

I'm new to thumbtacks and I just started my own business, sometimes I don't know what to charge people but I'm learning because of the time, money and effort invested in each job. I wonder if thumbtacks charges the leads as if it were a 10% commission of what they think we're charging the customers?

They pick some exuberant amount and think they are doing US a favor by having 'targeting' turned on. They think we don't notice the greed by putting a weird .07 at the end or some kind of 'cents' like that. 🙂
