The importance of notifications
In order to balance responding to new leads quickly with the rest of life’s responsibilities, Jess mentioned how helpful she finds getting notifications through the Thumbtack Pro app.
Adjusting to customers’ communication style
Jess also talks about how she gets work by being flexible with how she communicates to different customers. Some want to book fully through text, some want a call. Figuring out what they’re looking for and acting accordingly makes a big difference.

I try to always be accessible
I always tell people what I would do if it was my house.
I always try to understand exactly what people are looking for or want
I start with a brief intro and bio. I then lead into the service request, quote, and the "how this works" aspects. I end with "all I need to go forward is your phone number and email so we can discuss this further".
I have found that this helps consumers, even though who perfer online only, feel more at ease that you are not just some run-of-the-mill, fly-by-night type of professional.
I have had issues with my notifications in the past. I miss some. However, I look at my mobile app at least once an hour to make sure I didn't miss anything.
