Re: Censorship

@MarioRamirez I looked into this pretty heavily and I can assure you that Tevin is an actual customer who has completed other jobs through Thumbtack. Like I mentioned before, it wouldn’t be smart or ethical of us to create fake leads and that’s definitely not what we’re about. It’s disheartening to hear that you think that would be something we'd so as you’ve had very real interactions having been hired 44 times on Thumbtack.

Re: Censorship

Of course, it will come out smelling like roses from your side.  What can do but just believe you right?

Out of the 44 Hires ( which I can prove several never come to, this is another issue as clients can mark as hired and not do anything else and we are out of $$$$ but this was a more rampant issue before and really one could not do anything because we would have to pay to speak to the lead anyway) , me how many in the last 2 years?

I was a firm believer of Thumbtack until strange things started to happen, less leads more charge weird leads, etc. But hey i am just a small fish in a large lake and no matter what i say Thumbtack is the one that has made millions and has the High Power Lawyers. All I can see is what I see and speak to other pros that have had very similar issues .

Re: Censorship

I've had parts of my posts redacted, as well.
The problem with their community guidelines is that they are too subjective.
What is non-constructive?  By whose definition?
If we point out something that we think isn't being done right or could be done better, we can get deleted.  What used to be called "constructive criticism" is now seen as simply criticism.

Either the designers of this forum are millennials or the designers feel like they have to cater to that generation to keep them from leaving the website.    Because we get badges for everything on this forum.  You get a badge for replying or starting a thread or giving someone a thumbs up.  Badges.  This is because kids now get participation trophies for playing and gold stars on their assignment just for turning them in.

They will probably see what I just wrote as "negative" and delete it, when in fact it's a valid constructive criticism that illustrates my point of view.  I see all these silly badges as disingenuous and it gives me the impression that I'm being patronized and condescended to.  I'm over 50 and grew up at a time when accolades had to be earned.  You didn't get an 'at-a-boy!' just for doing what was expected of you.   My feelings on this matter should be just as valid as the feelings of someone who sees this as negative.

Enjoy that constructive criticism before it gets deleted.  :-)

Deleted Discussion

Wow , we had a pretty intense conversation earlier, and granted I can understand why some of my remarks were deleted but why the whole discussion? Did we make too valid a point? Did we embarrass admin by calling out the unethical tactics being used ? We never got a straight answer on why now without promote turned on you can't see our preferences. Is this why the discussion was deleted ?
