Hey pros, we wanted to welcome everyone back after the long weekend and hear what you all did to celebrate and commemorate those who protect our country.
In line with @Meckell's recent post about Self Care, I chose to take most of the time to be with family. We were fortunate enough to do some camping, fishing, exploring with OHVs, and overall had a really great time.
The highlight of my weekend was getting to meet and speak with a retired veteran. He'd served in the Gulf War and had unfortunately lost a leg, but he spoke about how he learned a lot about himself from the experience and how he used those experiences as motivation to help others who had served and were struggling. It was truly amazing to see someone in such high spirits despite all that he'd been through. He currently helps run a small foundation for veterans in Idaho and actually left from camping early to take part in coordinating an event there for Memorial Day. It was such an honor to speak with him and get to thank him for his past and continued service.
If you haven't already, be sure to also read a great post from the Community’s very own @Hankster about his time in the Air Force and how that experience helped shape his businessHERE.
