Recognizing our veterans

Happy Veterans Day from TackVets, Thumbtack's employee group for veterans, military spouses and allies. We span all branches of the Armed Forces and have transitioned into roles across Thumbtack, working in application design, culinary, customer support, design, product operations, recruiting and sales.

Our experiences in the military continue to inform our work, as we know that it takes many roles working together to succeed in any mission. Today, that mission we all work towards is to partner with local businesses and coach them on how to succeed on Thumbtack.

We recently got together to reflect on Veterans Day and we summed up our sentiments:

“Everyday should be a day to keep thoughts of the military in our minds, but one day has specifically been created to remind us all of those who stood up and chose to put our country first. On this one day, it is time to put those brave individuals first and express the gratitude that can never fully be expressed to the brave men and women who are serving and have served in the Armed Forces. Thank you for your willingness to sacrifice for the freedoms we all celebrate daily.”

Every veteran has their own path to transition to civilian life. For those of you who have chosen to forge your own trail as an entrepreneur, we’re honoured to be able to partner with you to create a successful business.

Veterans, we would love to hear from you. We’d love to hear about your background and how you’ve brought your experiences in the military to better serve as a local professional.
