I was hired by a customer on Thumbtack to edit his dissertation. He paid the first 50% upfront but has refused to pay the remaining amount after I returned his edited work back to him. He is seeking a new editor because he claims I have not completed the editing he requested. In other words, he wanted me to write his entire dissertation which I specifically said I do not do.
How are other Pros dealing with customers who do not pay? Do we have any recourse?
