Can I please get a refund for a customer named Annamarie P - the lead is not for something that I do, but I was charged for it on Promote. Also this link does not work for me - the page just loads endlessly. I use google Chrome.

It's pretty clear that a lot of customers do not take the time to read the pro's profile*. In the first line of my introduction, I state that I live in Los Angeles, yet I still get leads from out-of-state, who want to meet in person. I'm not charged for these leads, but they're a waste of time, for both parties. Or, the customer will have chosen " Professionals may travel to my address, I will travel to the pro up to 25 miles, This can be done over the phone or internet" yet specify in their description that they want to meet in person - and I pay for those automatically. I was charged for one this week - can I get a refund? *I know this because of the above, and I recently had someone contact me on thumbtack, then while texting with her, she asked my rate (visible on Thumbtack), and said it was out of her budget. Can I get a refund? I can screenshot of the texts.

Can we still use this thread for refunds? The thumbtack help/support page does not seem to work for me.

@Hearthworks the message tells you whether or not the pro responded to the customer's message. "responded in 2 days" means the pro responded 2 days after the customer sent them a message. I agree with @HansenJC that "What's your next availability?" And similar click-questions are pretty pointless.

In the past, on another tutoring website, I would almost never ask for reviews, and instead just hope that people would write reviews; it rarely happened. I had hundreds of five-star ratings, but very few written reviews. I was somewhat shy about asking for reviews - not anymore.

I just be friendly and do my job well. I usually wait until after they've finished with their course before asking for a review. Occasionally I'll ask after the first session, which is what I often did when new to thumbtack, but now that I have a solid base of reviews, I prefer to wait until we have more time together for them to base their review on. It also helps to be really, really good at what you do. And also be really friendly and personable. Luckily, these things come very easy to me - I am friends with several of my former students, and some of them are coming to my wedding.

I tried using the Thumbtack chat, which just went to a blank screen after I attempted to start the chat. Tried it again, same result after I clicked 'Next'. Does the chat function work...? Is the number 866-501-5805 still in use? I texted it about 7 hours ago and got no response. It's possible it could take up to 24 hours, but by then I might forget about it. Someone please help. This feels like a lot of hassle just to get a refund of $6.

@DefiningImagery as has been stated several times in this thread, the "75% within 24 hour response rate" is not referring to requests that you can choose to bid on. It is only referring to replying to a customer when they respond to a quote that you previously sent. Ignore as many requests as you like. When you do send a quote, and a customer reaches out to you about it, you have to respond 75% of the time within 24 hours.
