As the owner of a travel agency, the price I pay per lead is extremely important. You mention that you try to base the price of the lead on whether you feel the lead is more valuable...but how can you know every industry and know what is considered a good lead and a bad one? For instance, a lead may say they want airfare to Asia; the plane ticket will be very expensive....but since airlines generally do not pay travel agents commission, this lead, while spending quite a bit of money, is worthless to me. I was getting automatically matched leads and received some really horrible leads - bottom of the barrel, and got charged for some. Another time a lead requested a specific resort for very specific dates for travel. The resort he was requesting was 100% sold out, so I declined the lead because there was no way I'd ever make money on something if I couldn't sell it because it was available. I was charged anyway, even after explaining the situation to your customer relations/support department. I don't mind paying for leads, but they have to ge good, legitimate leads that I can reasonably expect to close. The dropped the auto match because it doesn't work and penalizes you at times, whether you accept the lead or decline it. Leads should be REQUIRED to include a phone number for contact if they want a quote. Otherwise, we are just wasting time. The best way to sell is to speak to people personally. Your system does not allow this if people opt not to include their phone number. The leads must be valuable to the business owner, otherwise, we might as well get out the phone book and start cold-calling.
