As many of you know, we launched an exciting new project earlier this year, called TackMaster. The TackMaster program is part of our larger efforts to connect our pros to each other, and to Thumbtack, to help them build thriving businesses, together.
Our TackMasters are our ambassadors on the ground - hosting meet-ups in their hometowns, supporting other Thumbtack pros, building networks, creating collaborations, forging lasting friendships, hearing your voices, and bringing those voices to Thumbtack.
TackMasters are business owners, just like each of you. They wear all the hats. They hustle. They work hard. And they go above and beyond to make their communities stronger and better. This project truly is one of the most rewarding things I have ever been a part of. I think of this quote:
“We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone. And whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something.”
So many beautiful threads have been woven into my tapestry by Thumbtack pros and by their incredible stories. Here are just some of the amazing people we’ve met this year at TackMaster meet-ups.
We’re excited to be adding a TackMaster board to our online community. This is a place for our TackMasters to bounce ideas off of one another, support each other, and be inspired. It is also a place where you can reach out to the TackMaster in your area - if you’d like to attend a meet-up, have ideas for events, or need advice on local resources.
If you don’t see a TackMaster in your area, and are interested in joining, you can read a little more about what it means to be a TackMaster here and fill out an application here.

Thank you Thumbtack for providing such an awesome platform to market my photography business in the Philadelphia area. So far so great! Congratulations to all the 2019 Top Pros, great job! Congratulations to all of you and I am so happy to be here! My name is Kim Kosteck. I am a Professional Organizer and Life Coach living in the Houston area. Essentially, I help my clients become a better version on their selves so they can live fuller and happier lives by getting “unstuck”. I think it’s great they ask for a tip, because when I here Top Pro, I think of an individual that makes their clients a priority and understands the need for outstanding customer service. My #1 tip would be to put yourself in your clients shoes and think of the place in their life they are before they contacted you to improve it in some way and treat them no less that what you would wish to be treated. I wish you all the best on your endeavors and if you ever feel overwhelmed or wish you could get unstuck. I am available for a free coaching call to all Top Pro members! You can reach me at KimKosteckPO@gmail.com or 346-708-2413! Keep raising the bar! Kim 0 Kudos Share Reply Thought I would add this . . . . first 20 days of July numbers 16 paid Promote leads Cost $$196 1 refund that was a struggle to get Booked 1 Booked event : $175 for 1 hour job and he hasn’t paid the deposit yet. So technically I’m still at ZERO bookings Potential for a $20 profit for the month so far! $20 potential earnings for July. And I just made Top Pro. ?? I’ve been a Top Pro five years in a row. But these numbers are a sign that this system doesn’t work. This is why only 4% make Top Pro. Because 96% can not be successful on this site. When are the changes coming that have been promised? Paying for customers to ask if we are available when we pay to be filtered to them because we are available? Asking for estimate when we filter our price before they can contact us? I’ve been asking customers if they would use the site different and make serious selections if they knew we paid to respond and they said yes. But getting the customer to reach out to as many pros as possible IS Thumbtack’s goal. This takes away from uniqueness and cost to be on Promote. It is quite clear that Thumbtack is not planning on taking the steps that will truly make a difference in helping us get the right lead and the best opportunity to book. The issues with the site are all expressed all over the community board for a year now. And I don't see any of them addressed in your opening. "Require customers to use all search filters before they can contact a Pro" Is NOT PLANNED? Then why are we paying for Promote? Why are we wasting so much money for people to ask "are you available" - "wants an estimate". When I read that I was so disheartened for the future of this site.

When the suggestion is logged does this system that tracks our suggestions get tracked with a case number or some sort of numbering system? Or how exactly would one of my suggestions be found if I inquired about it at a later date @DustiO ?

@DustiO I am confident in my pricing strategy. Always have been. That's not my point & not why I brought this up. You've taken what I've posted out of context. Plus, you didn't answer my question about why the lowest price pro doesn’t have a gray meaningless line. It’s blank. So I guess in a roundabout way your telling me withoiut actually saying it that no change will be made here or even considered. The real issue here is the budget question which needs to go away rapidly. Your TT customers have unrealistic budgets when they submit a request. I have a job request in my queue now for a 9-hour DJ event. The customers budget selection? $400-$500. See for yourself. https://www.thumbtack.com/request/mpe5qrf1?service_id=vMH3RWxKOICwfg&syndicated_category=114393707196743940 There is no way in heck that I will submit a quote on this & waste my money because the customer has no idea what in this case a DJ service charges. That's TT's job. To educate their customers on what they should expect to pay for a service. The TT customer shouldn't be telling the service pro what they want to pay. This TT customer's budget comes nowhere close to what I would charge for an event of that length if I was so inclined to do a 9 hour DJ event which I wouldn't be. Yes, I passed on this ridiculous request. I made a great suggestion to get rid of the budget question https://community.thumbtack.com/t5/Find-more-jobs/The-Budget-Question-Has-Changed/td-p/26906/page/3 Check it out when you have a moment. I am so tired of receiving dozens of job notifications up to 150 miles away every day, and having to pass on every one of them. Such a huge waste of my time and attention! Why don’t you correct this problem? If you don’t soon, I will delete the Thumbtack app and end my relationship with a Thumbtack.
