Thanks for the insight but that doesn't clear up the problem. I understand giving new people a chance but should it be at the expense of seasoned pros? I worked very hard to achieve Top Pro ranking only to see my profile fall off the front page. I have never had anything but 5 star reviews but now I'm listed on page three in several categories. What was all the hard work for?

I must admit that I am very confused about how the pro photographer ratings are calculated. a few months ago i was always on the first page but now I am on the third page of pros. I see pros who have no hires or only a few hires on Thumbtack rated higher than me. I just don't understand the criterion used to rate these beginners above me. Can someone break it down so I can understand and get back on the first page?

So I am on vacation the last week in August and then off to the US Open in NYC the weekend after. I block the time on my calendar for both events. On Thursday I recieved a lead which says I have paid for this because it is a perfect fit. I decline the lead because I am at the beach in NC and the lead is the Philadelphia PA area. When I requested a refund I was told that this one time I would receive a credit but no refund as the lead was a perfit fit. What am I missing ? There must be a process where when you have time blocked you don't receive a lead. Can anyone assist me with this process? Thanks Alex Alex 310Photos

That's not a good thing. I ofter bid on jobs where the client reached out to other photographers but no one has responded. I would love to see if that client read my message or if they didn't. If they did then I have the opportunity to follow up and try to close the deal. Now I hesitate to send a follow up because I don't know if they read the first contact.

There use to be a way to see if messages you sent were open by the client. I am not able to find it anymore. Is it still available?

So...I'm trying this new promote option. According to my stats I am getting more looks now then ever...A good think. Bad thing is out of all the looks only two people were interested but instead of them contacting me I got notices from Thumbtack saying they were interested, I got charged and no one responded to my follow on the advised interest! I have been using thumbtack for just about a year and I have the stats to be Top Pro in January. I worked hard, gave discounted services to move my way towards Top Pro and now with this new system I am not seeing the results I worked so hard to achieve. It was much better seeing the leads in real time and responding to the onesthat fit my services. I am so very disappointed at how this is turning out!!! With my first contact now being a response to a Thumbtack notification as opposed to a response from the client I don't think I really stand a chance of getting the client I am paying for. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED, THIS IS KILLING MY BUSINESS!!!!!!! ALEX 310PHOTOS, LLC

Hi Team, I must agree with RCPS, I like being able to send quotes in response to the clients of my choice. I find that most of the clients I have gotten felt that my personalized quote was the difference that set me apart for the instant quotes they received. I am afraid that in the new world I won't get the opportunity to make the great first impression that I do now. Alex
