I have been with TT for a couple of years now. I am considered a Top Pro. With the release of TT's Terms and Conditions, especially the tracking of our private texts, emails and telephone, I will be closing my account. I have been on the fence since the lead pricing changes, and what indicates to me the company's greed. This is a decision that has been a difficult one, as I have enjoyed connecting with the customers of my choosing, providing them with expert service, and networking with other pros, making the customers' experiences even better. The idea that I, a professional, needs to be spied on in order to verify that I am being honest and honorable in my disclosing 'jobs' that I engage in is proposterous and insulting. My communications are private. I have operated and provided services with the utmost integrity, and this is the last straw. TT has no right to monitor and evaluate my personal activities once I've paid for a lead. Once the lead moves into a hired status, everything that I owe TT is paid in full, and my communications are irrelevant to what I have already paid for. This is spying, and if it isn't illegal, it should be. Additionally, bringing in a third party to discover additional 'links' between the Pros and Customers is both disturbing and unethical. Customers shop around, and to think that Thumbtack is the only platform they are using to find the perfect fit for their job is naive. For the Pros who are using other platforms, TT's new policy about tracking/discovering customer/Pro connections on other platforms other than TT, is both invasive and, as I mentioned before, unethical. TT is behaving as if their platform is the owner of all potential customers and Pros using their platform, alike. I will miss developing friendships with my customers and helping them to enjoy one of the most meaningful days of their lives... their wedding days, but I will not subject myself and/or them to an invasion of privacy.

@Meckell, thank you for sharing the steps involved to find the amount we will be charged. It would be extremely helpful for those of us who use the Thumbtack Pro App on our phones, and even on our computers/laptops/pcs/etc., if the Requests showed the fee directly on the job details (at the top), like it used to, without us needing to click anywhere. The costs for me to quote a job has gone up 500-600%, sometimes even more. The pressure to book a job is expotential, as are the fees being charged. Just my personal experience. This results in me needing to make cold, hard choices about whether, or not, I will continue using Thumbtack. I know you've heard it over and again. The market in my immediate service are is very limited, as I live in rural Northern California. To be competitive, I need to be willing to travel up to and in excess of 200 miles roundtrip, minimum of 1 time, maximum of 3-4 times, per job, if I'm lucky enough to book one, which I have not been since this series of changes have been implemented on Thumbtack. Once again, thank you for describing what needs to be done to see the fee we will be charged upfront. I hope that my input is useful.
