Has anyone else noticed that the cost of actually securing a customer through Thumbtack has nearly tripled in the past 12 months? While the cost per lead increased incrementally; the "new features" like "instant match", preformatted questions for customers, and each customer being inundated with up to 20 quotes for one request sure has made the likelihood of securing a new client decrease for me. It appears to me that we are paying three times as much money with zero exclusivity. 5 years ago, Thumbtack only allowed 4 people to respond before making the potential customer unavailable for quoting.... that was a much better system. Does anyone else agree or disagree? I have found that I am now spending enough with Thumbtack to afford high dollar ad campaigns!

I came on here to start a thread about how the new lead prices are getting ridiculous. I refuse to use instant match because when I tried it, your platform told someone I would clean their entire house for $47.11 which is stupid because my cheapest fee is $75.00... I keep getting these "leads" who send a "prompted response/question"... so I pay your over priced fee to answer their question only for them to disappear into oblivion. This has even occurred when I was the ONLY pro the person selected-- and then they messaged me days later to tell me that they hired someone else.... I think Thumbtack should add something that informs the customer that we pay high prices just to be allowed to send them a message so maybe they won't get "click happy" when submitting a request. Furthermore, the number of "instant match" responses versus "pay per lead" responses should be limited!! If I am paying your company up to $75 JUST to send a quote; it seems unreasonable that I compete with up to 14 other pros, many of whom never even respond to a customer who sends them a "prompted question"!!
