In response to : A way to sync third-party calendars Status: Under consideration We hear this a lot and have future plans to support third-party calendar integration. We hope that one day, pros can rely on their Thumbtack calendar as their source of truth. We also released a new calendar recently, that makes it easier to block off unavailable times. So our first priority is to make the new update easier to find and use. The key to success in the world of the internet of things (IOT) is to specialize a service for a niche community and integrate into an ecosystem of brands that your community is using. It would be unreasonable to expect people to only use Thumbtack for everything. Just like it would be unreasonable to expect people to promote with just Yelp. That thought culture existed in the late 90s and early 2000's. Even in our personal lives, we don't use just one brand for everything. It's almost like the developers just built a broad net to catch a lot of fish, but now you got snails, eels, dolphins, and crabs all caught in the net. If interconnectivity/interoperability is an afterthought or not a destination on the strategic road map, then I think Thumbtack should not consider remote professionals as part of their niche community. I challenge you and other members of your team to try some method acting. A 30-day Thumbtack Method Acting Challenge Try creating a service that you could do remotely, promote on Thumbtack, pay for leads, generate opportunities, and document your experiences. Some key questions to focus on : What type of remote professional am I ? Am I getting leads at are genuine opportunities ? Do I have all of the tools that I need to perform my service ? What could be improved upon, to make Thumbtack a 1-stop shop for all of my need ?
