Geotargeting X Mile Radius and Works Remotely
I build websites and I only want to target leads within a 15 mile radius of my business. This is for budget reasons. My strategy right now is to market to my local area. I set me travel area to 15 miles. However, I also selected that I work remotely. I build websites. Obviously I work remotely.
Thumbtack apparently took "works remotely" as an open invitation to send me leads from more than 500 miles away.
So, is the answer that I need to turn off "works remotely" if I want to get accurate geotargeting?
This seems deceptive.

Yes, @WebsterJ the "works remotely" option will show you to customers everywhere (lots of pros in your industry and industries like personal training, life coaching, etc that can be done remotely will choose this option so they can show to a broader audience than their local market). I would recommend unchecking that and indicating in your intro that you can work remotely. You can always change this, but I would test out removing that and seeing if you get the right types of leads. Hope this helps!
