Cant afford, need work

In times like this when work is slow i need and indeed use thumbtack. However this economy has took a toll on my wallet. With every dollar being crucial i am weary of paying the $170 bill for the last unresponsive lead in order to be re listed. I am aware that i can turn down my "max lead budget". however if i do i wont show in the search resulting in barely recieving a lead and if i do its still i high chance they dont answer meaning i paid $170 for nothing and now again have another bill for a unresponsive lead.

What should i do in this situation?
