Why does blocking off dates not working for leads who select multiple days?

If i have blocked off days 1-5, and a lead is looking for someone on day 2, i assume I will not get the lead. But if they say they are looking for someone on day 2 or 3, it ignores my calendar and still gives me the lead/charges me for the lead?

What's the logic behind that? I could maybe understand if they were looking for someone on days 4-6 and I was available just on day 6. But if i have blocked myself off for all the days they are looking for, why would you still send/charge the lead to me?

The calendar lets us know when you’re available to work so that we can match you up with the right customers. If you have July 15th blocked off on your calendar, and a potential customer wants their project done only on July 15th, you won’t be matched with that customer. If the customer is open to working with you on the 14th, 15th, and 16th, you’ll still get the lead, since they are open to the 14th and 16th in addition to the day you have blocked. Customers can also leave the date they want to work with you completely open, meaning they don’t specify a certain date, or they can mark an option that lets us know they are open to other dates suggested by you.

If you're being charged for leads when you have the entire time blocked off, you can request a refund. If you'd like me to check on a specific lead for you, you can DM me.

I understood, sorry if that didn't come across! If you feel that you got a lead in error I would definitely request a refund. But, sometimes you might get a lead at no charge - what lead is it and I can look into it for you?

    Hi

My Tuesday (tomorrow) is full and I happly 'blocked it' off on the thumbtack calander. I still need to book other days, including Wednesday, Thursday, etc, so I remained 'visible.'

I then got matched with a 'Tueday' request (with 'open to other dates'). But I had it 'Blocked!' I don't have the availability. I got $$$tung with non-Direct Lead.

I contacted the client. She wasn't interested in anything but that day Tueday. I couldn't win the job. It was impossible.

Thumbtacks policy in regards to this issue is that this is "not refundable."

This loophole has existed for years and it is not fair on the Pros. We can't win. We spent a lot of time setting up our calander times, work areas and type of work we do. We pay or fees automatically and do our part.

The only way to avoid this loophole is to drop off the visablity list. This in turn is bad for Pros, less choice for customers which in turn isn't good for thumbtacks business in the long run.

It would be in all three parties favor to remove this loophole. For the pros who keep their calanders up-to-date, we can remain visible 24/7. This would give the customers a huge gallery of 'available only' pros to choose from.

Please fix this Thumbtack. It's a win / win / win solution. 👍👍👍
