Thumbtack calendar

Is there anyway to put on the calendar my booking so that way if I am busy that day I don't get direct lead and get charged for it

    Sure can.

    1. Login to your account
    2. At the top, choose CALENDAR.
    3. Click on the box for the day you want to do blocking. You can either block the entire day or you can choose to just block a set time. In fact, you'll find a blue box at the top right that says "Block Time" if you just want to block a certain time block.

WARNING! This does not stop you from getting leads if the customer has enabled "allow pro to suggest an alternate time/date." This is enabled by default. What happens is a customer sends a request to you for May 8th but has "allow pro to suggest an alternate time/date" checked. They actually only want the 8th, but didn't see about the other box. So you counter with "hey, I can do the 9th" and the customer says "I only wanted the 8th." YOU WILL NOT GET A REFUND FROM THUMBTACK! As long as they chose "allow pro to suggest an alternate time," even if they didn't really want it, Thumbtack will not approve a refund. I've had around six of these types of leads I've had to pay for when the customer had zero interest in meeting any other time.

Refunds from Thumbtack are very hard to get. Once a customer selects you, you pay. I have found this to be true even if the customer provides a wrong contact number and sometimes even if they are out of your area. I like using thumbtack but you really have to fight to get refunds.

Once another note please change the term direct lead. A direct lead can be sent to 4 other pros, not just you. That’s not what I would consider a direct lead.

Hi! Thanks to pro feedback, we’ve made several key updates to our refund process over the past several months. These include a revised list of refund request reasons and customer phone number verification. Plus, in January, we introduced the option to submit attachments with your refund request, so you can provide all necessary evidence upfront.

We also added a direct email address for refund disputes refunddisputes@thumbtack.com where you can reach out if you were denied a refund and want to dispute that.

These changes have helped boost refund approval rates and reduce the need for support inquiries — saving time and hassle. You can learn more about our refund policy here.

But, before the need for refunds arise, I would recommend really dialing in your preferences, including your availability (as recommended above), your pricing information, your travel areas, etc. to ensure the best possible match.

    Hope this helps!
