Meet Thomas, a Top Pro roofing contractor, a pro mentor, and a Pro Advisor from our Thumbtack Pro Advisory Board. Thomas has decades of experience in his industry and is a 3 year Top Pro. We asked him about his Thumbtack experience and to share some advice for other pros. Can you tell us a bit about your business and what inspired you to start it? We are a family owned business and I have learned everything from my grandfather who inspired me to continue to help people with their home maintenance needs. 

What are some of the biggest challenges you've faced as a business owner, and how did you overcome them? Our biggest challenges we had was around covid and not having a lot of online presence to help around that time. But, we managed to pull through by working hard, having good referrals to other home owners and working towards getting our name out there using tools like Thumbtack. 

How has Thumbtack contributed to your business's success? Thumbtack has helped our business tremendously when we were trying to work on our online presence and get our name out there. It helped by bringing us quality leads along with tools to further grow our business. I love how simple the set up was and it continues to bring me and my company success. 

What advice would you give to new business owners starting out on Thumbtack? The advice I would give to someone new here on Thumbtack would be to focus on building your business and working hard to make sure all homeowners that requested you are completely satisfied and using the tools provided by thumbtack — by doing things like requesting reviews and adding or changing things on your profile that will strengthen your online presence.
