Free Leads Promotion

Hi,

The other day I received a push notification and email advertising if I increased my maximum weekly allowance by $XX they'd give up to 6 free leads with the highest increase. I then increased for 6 free leads.

Since then have had two charges for new incoming leads. Is this supposed to be the case?

Thank you!

@ChicagoMurals I am not able to help with this one - you will need to reach out to support so they can help you. Let me know if/when this gets resolved. Thanks!

@jnieri1986 Sorry for the delayed response! When did you increase your budget? You'll need to have your budget increased for 2 weeks (without pausing/hiding) before you receive the free leads. Has it been that long?

I only paused it when I go to bed, because sometimes they send you leads at 2am in the morning.

I don't believe you'd be eligible for the free leads if you're pausing - but I would recommend reaching out to support to confirm (sorry, I don't know a ton about this particular promotion).

As a fellow muralist, I would avoid increasing your budget, it rarely does anything, and just gives Thumbtack more money with mostly the same result.

I've found the best leads are the free leads Thumbtack throws my way when I exhaust my budget for the week. It's almost like they know which Users are likely to buy and then use that as a carrot to get us Pros to spend more.

However, my data also shows that keeping your max lead fees as low as possible returns far better results than increasing the price you consent to paying Thumbtack.

(notice how the green lines basically disappear above $32)

Purple is the number of inquiries at that price point, green is sales count and red is revenue.

Even when you count that one really lucky $4,200 sale at $36 per inquiry, inquiries costing $10 or less made more money for my company than all the inquiries $33-97 each did.

This is over 387 User inquiries, 83 of whom could not be reached or had no means to pay and 55% were never marked as "Job Done", so I can only speculate that they hired no one.
