Pricing

When I started this several years ago, we were not charged if a lead came to us that person was, and we only got charged if we accepted that lead. Now you are charging for everything sent to us, even if we never accept it. When I asked for my money back, they denied me, and so I stuck my CC on the account so my bank account doesn't get hit, but they will not charge the CC. Wonder why?? Do you have something to hide, and the CC company will catch it?

I believe we are all being overcharged and receiving leads that are not even going to use us, just to make money.

@Taxgal52 if your CC is not working I would reach out to support or to your bank. Thumbtack does charge credit cards, so there is likely an issue on the bank's end (the only types of cards you cannot use are prepaid credit cards). Here is an article about adding credit cards.

The way Thumbtack works has changed over the years. Previously customers were not able to see a list of pros, view their profiles, and select the ones they want to work with — at that time they would submit a request and the first 5 pros to bid would be able to connect with the customer. However, now the customer inputs the parameters of the job they want done and then they see a list of pros who can do the job and they proactively select the pros they want to connect with so it's important that you 1) make sure that all of your job preferences are set to exactly the types of jobs you'd like to do, 2) you respond really quickly to customers when they reach out, and 3) be sure that you have your max lead prices and budget set to what works for you and your business. If there are times that you do not want to receive any leads (like you are out of town or your schedule is full) I would recommend using the Hide My Business feature.

You will be charged for a lead the moment the customer reaches out, which is why it's important to be sure that you have all of your preferences really dialed in. Sorry for the frustration, hope this helps clear some of it up!

I have all this set into place. I will ask the CC if they are blocking it, but it is a CC, not a prepaid, that is on my account.
