My name is Cate. I’m an Interior Designer/Home Stager in the Kansas City, Mo. area. My Business name is “Style House K.C.”

I got started in Home Staging by introducing myself to an incredibly handsome agent that I met at a gas station. I thought he was quite handsome; and with my lifetime history in sales it wasn’t a stretch for me to simply walk-up to him; and introduce myself. I confidently approached him and asked what he did for a living and he replied “I’m a real estate agent”. I then immediately saw the opportunity to decorate houses so I proceeded to ask if he needed any help with staging. Surprisingly enough he did and that was my first assignment staging FOUR NEWLY BUILT HOMES within a brand new subdivision!! We went on daily shopping sprees together and it was great that people assumed we were a couple …I was absolutely beyond ecstatic! 😁🎉 He let me take the lead to pick out all of the furniture & furnishings. “Here’s the credit card pick out whatever you want”… I was in absolute HEAVEN!!

The homes turned out beautifully (we even gave each one its own cool name) lol I got paid a bountiful wage that exceeded my monthly income at the time; and I absolutely couldn’t have asked for a better start. Unfortunately there wasn’t a love connection (of which I was quite bummed). BUT the opportunity gave me the chance to do the thing I love full-time. So I guess you could say it wasn’t a complete loss. 😝 And that’s how I got started in the Home Staging business! 🥰
