New Handyman Pro in Reno–Sparks Looking for Lead Advice
Hi everyone, I’m Jason Sandoval, an independent handyman serving the Reno–Sparks area. I primarily provide furniture assembly and help with smaller household installation and repair projects.
I got started by completing projects and repairs in my own homes for more than 30 years. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, solving problems, and seeing a project come together correctly. I recently joined Thumbtack to put that experience to work helping local customers while building my business and reputation.
My question for the community: What strategies have helped you turn more opportunities and direct leads into booked jobs without competing only on the lowest price?

Hi @Jsandoval , welcome to the Community, Jason! 👋 More than 30 years of hands-on experience gives you a great foundation as you start building your business on Thumbtack.
And I really like that you're thinking beyond simply being the lowest-priced option. A few things we consistently hear from successful pros are to respond quickly, personalize your first message to the customer's specific project, build up strong reviews, and make sure your profile clearly shows the quality and experience you're bringing to the job. Those things can help customers see the value behind your price.
Since you're a new Pro, I'd also recommend checking out this discussion where some of our Top Pros share what they recommend doing in your first 30 days to help win more jobs:
There are some great Pro-to-Pro tips in there that I think will be especially useful as you start figuring out what works best in the Reno–Sparks market. 😊
