Move-out cleaning always seems straightforward at first—until you start going room by room and realize how many little details can get missed.
The obvious areas are usually the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and floors. But the things that tend to get overlooked are often smaller:
- Inside cabinets and drawers
- Baseboards and door frames
- Window sills and blinds
- Appliance interiors
- Closet shelves and corners
- Light switches and outlets
- Areas under or behind furniture
A final walkthrough makes a big difference too. Once everything is packed up, it’s much easier to spot missed dust, scuffs, crumbs, or forgotten items.
For renters, homeowners, and cleaning pros—what’s the one area you think people forget most often during a move-out clean?
