Harder to Communicate with Clients

I was Thumbtacks first personal training pro back in 2008-2009. Ever since Thumbtack changed the phone number system, I have been receiving less leads, and it is harder to communicate with clients. I know this has been negative because I have been with Thumbtack back when the service was free. People don't answer generic numbers because it is being associated with spam. I might have to find another service.

I feel your pain on this - what I've been doing is when I call the customer, I ask for their direct number so that I can call/text them. They also don't get responses from my calendaring system when a Thumbtack generic number is supplied. I'm not sure Thumbtack will change this policy back to how it used to be, especially because people routinely block or don't answer numbers they don't recognize, even if it says "Thumbtack Pro". I called a customer recently who didn't even know who Thumbtack was even though he submitted a request through the website but didn't want to download the app. It's a bit frustrating.

Exactly. And the thing is, if you ask for their direct number, Thumbtack detects it and you won't receive a refund. It is horribly frustrating. We are spending way more money that we are actually pulling in.
