Hi I am Keith and I have a bookkeeping and finance consultation business. I am new to this platform and am interested in peoples ideas of Thumbtack. Please leave some comments so I feel all fuzzy inside. Just kidding, thank you for responding to my question.

    Hi Keith (@FinanceNYou) — welcome!

Thumbtack has been a really strong platform for me, especially in bookkeeping and tax preparation. There’s definitely a learning curve, but once it clicks, it can become a consistent source of great clients.

I’ve found it’s less about being the fastest to respond and more about how you respond—people are looking for clarity and someone they feel comfortable trusting. Make sure your responses sound like you, so there’s an instant connection right from the start.

As you get going, just stay consistent with it—keep your profile clear on what you do and who you’re a good fit for, and give yourself a manageable budget so you can really see results.

One thing that’s made a big difference for me: if a lead starts going back and forth in messages, I’ll invite them to a quick call or Zoom early. That shift alone has helped turn conversations into real clients.

Glad you’re here — it’s a good place to be. Happy to connect anytime as you get your footing.
