Preset Jobs

Will someone explain how the preset jobs work? I noticed it on the app and I want to make sure it's something I want to add to my business.

Hey Sherry, good news, it's pretty low commitment to try, you don't need to sign up or opt in at all.

Eligible jobs just show up in your "For you" tab automatically if you meet the criteria: at least 3 reviews, a 4.5+ rating, targeting turned on for that category, and a completed background check.

These are jobs the customer already booked and paid for at a fixed price, so there's no lead fee and no quoting. The number you see is exactly what you'll earn once you mark the job done and get paid out.

One thing to know going in, the price is fixed and can't be negotiated, and rescheduling isn't really an option, so only claim ones you're sure you can make.

If you want to take a look before committing to anything, check your "For you" tab now. You can also check out this Help Center article for more detail: https://help.thumbtack.com/article/claimable-job

Preset or fixed-price jobs can work, but only when the scope is very clear.

For cleaning, the same “house cleaning” request can mean very different things depending on the home size, number of bathrooms, condition, pets, clutter, add-ons, and whether the customer needs standard cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, or recurring service.

If the job details are too limited, it can create problems for both the customer and the pro. The customer may expect more, and the pro may not have enough time or labor built into the price.

I think preset jobs are best when there are clear limits, clear descriptions, and a quick follow-up before the appointment to confirm expectations.

Thanks MyCleanCharlotteMaid. I agree the work details needs to very, very clear. So there can't be a walkthrough before the cleaning appointment?
