Does Your Kitchen Need Deep Cleaning More Often Than the Rest of Your Home?
The kitchen is one of the hardest-working rooms in any home, and even with regular cleaning, buildup can happen faster than we realize.
Everyday cooking can leave a thin layer of grease on cabinet fronts, backsplashes, range hoods, and nearby surfaces. Crumbs find their way into corners and along toe kicks, while fingerprints, water spots, and residue gradually collect around handles, appliances, sinks, and fixtures.
Routine cleaning is great for staying on top of counters, sinks, stovetops, floors, and fresh spills. But occasionally, the kitchen needs a more detailed reset that reaches the areas we don't always get to during everyday upkeep.
A few signs it may be time for a deeper clean:
- Cabinets or handles feel sticky
- The backsplash looks dull or greasy
- Fixtures have noticeable buildup
- Odors linger even after routine cleaning
- Corners and floor edges are collecting grime
Small amounts of buildup are usually much easier to tackle before they become stubborn.
💬 What part of your kitchen seems to get dirty the fastest—the stovetop, cabinets, floors, sink, or something else?

This is such a good reminder, @MyCleanCharlotteMaid ! 👏 The kitchen is definitely one of those spaces that can look clean while grease and buildup are quietly collecting in all the spots we don’t think about every day.
I especially like the distinction between routine cleaning and a deeper reset. Helpful, practical advice that homeowners can actually use.
