New Cleaning Pro Ready to Grow with Thumbtack!
Hi everyone! I’m the owner of Clean Intentions Co., a residential cleaning business serving Athens, Georgia and surrounding areas. I recently started my business because I wanted to build something of my own while providing dependable, detailed cleaning services that help make people’s homes feel fresh and comfortable. I’m excited to connect with other pros, learn more about growing my business, and build a strong reputation on Thumbtack.
My question for the community: What advice would you give a new cleaning professional for getting their first few consistent clients through Thumbtack?

Welcome! For a new cleaning pro, I think the first goal should be building trust and consistency.
Customers are inviting someone into their home, so your profile needs to feel clear, professional, and reliable. I would focus on good photos, clear service descriptions, accurate service areas, fast response time, and asking happy customers for reviews after completed jobs.
For cleaning, it also helps to explain the difference between standard cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, and recurring cleaning. A lot of customers are not sure what they need, so helping them understand the right service can set you apart.
The first few clients matter a lot. Show up on time, communicate clearly, do great work, and follow up afterward. A one-time cleaning can turn into a recurring customer if the experience feels easy and professional.

Sorry for the delay in responding @CleanIntentionsCo . Very busy time thanks in large part to the number of leads I do get on Thumbtack. I'm a home organizer and move management specialist so what i do does overlap with your business but I'm not sure it really matters in terms of getting leads. Just be genuine and authentic in all of your messaging. Most of our leads are customers who are really struggling with chronic disorganization so we are constantly having to ease their fear and anxiety in hiring anyone, not just us. But I do my best to show up with integrity and make sure they know how passionate I am about the work I do and that for most people it really is a necessity and not a luxury. I'm sure you have customers that feel the same way about having a regular cleaning service. Life is busy and messy and we all work hard so we can hopefully play hard. I myself have a cleaning service not because I can't clean but because I really don't want to be inside on a beautiful CO day that I can actually take off and enjoy. If you ever want to connect for more strategy on "working" Thumbtack leads feel free to reach out at 720-637-2492. I would be happy to give you some tips. I'm on the Thumbtack Pro Advisory Board and one of our responsibilities is to help mentor other Pros so I welcome the opportunity to help you.
