Honestly? Somewhere along the way I discovered this whole beautiful world of cleaning, full of hardworking and wonderful people!!

So here's my question for you all: what's the strangest (or funniest) thing you've ever found on a job?

Ha, I've got one! Most of what we find is norma I think…. loose change, mystery Tupperware lids, the occasional earring under a couch cushion! But once we opened a hall closet expecting cleaning supplies and found a fully set-up karaoke machine, disco ball included, still plugged in. Then we asked client, just shrugged and said "oh yeah, that's been like that since 2019" 😂 Our cleaners finished the job with Bohemian Rhapsody playing softly in the background!!!

Thanks for tagging me @DustiO … you know I have A LOT of stories but I think the one that I still laugh the hardest about may seem a little "inappropriate" to some but when has that ever stopped me??? LOL!

I was helping a 50 something year old bachelor do some decluttering and organizing before his weekend company was arriving later that day. When I went to see what was behind his closet door I noticed a big basket with dozens of vibrators in their original packaging. The client happened to walk in at that moment and got totally embarrassed. I explained to him there was no reason to be…"you be you". He then proceeded to tell me that he had regular weekend "guests" and he felt it was important to start with a new vibrator for each one from a safety standpoint. I would never argue with his logic but then commented, "So when they leave they get to take it with them like a goodie bag from a birthday party?". This guy was actually a very type A person and to see him laugh really broke the ice for him to be less intense around me. He's now engaged and his fiancé was told the story and they are both 100% comfortable having me in their home. They are actually moving to the mountains (I live in Boulder) in the near future and asked if I would not just pack but also go out there to help them unpack.

All I can say is that I have seen a lot of stuff I can never "unsee" in my line of work but always hope that the clients have a sense of humor and always appreciate the stories I get to tell.
