Opportunities by keywords please?

Hello Everyone!

I hope I can get the ball rolling on something. If it concerns me then perhaps others will benefit.

I assemble one and only one type of trampoline. Thumbtack notifications only provide opportunities for work within a broader category. When someone wants general play equipment assembled, that could be everthing from swingsets to basketball hoops.

If Thumbtack could allow keyword notifications, it would be a game-changing upgrade on the service. In my example, I could just put in the name of the company that makes these.

The Thumbtack site would be more effective for its professionals and Thumbtack might not risk losing professionals to the ever-growing number of competitors.

Thanks and have a great week!

I think keyword targeting would be very helpful for service businesses because not every lead under the same general category is actually the same type of job.

For cleaning, a lead for standard house cleaning, deep cleaning, move-out cleaning, Airbnb turnover, post-construction cleaning, or carpet cleaning can all require different pricing, labor, supplies, and scheduling.

The more specific the opportunity is, the easier it is for the pro to decide if it is a good fit and respond with the right information.

Better keyword matching could also help customers because they would be connected with pros who actually offer the exact service they need.

Hi @JohnnyBones , thanks for taking the time to share such a specific example of where more flexibility could help.

I can see how broad Opportunity categories can make it harder when you offer a very specialized service. Being able to narrow notifications by a keyword, brand, or specific type of project could potentially help pros identify relevant Opportunities more quickly.

And @MyCleanCharlotteMaid , thanks for adding the cleaning perspective too. It's helpful to see how the same challenge can show up across very different service categories.

I'll include this feedback when we're sharing Community insights with the appropriate teams. Thanks to you both for laying out the use cases so clearly!
