I don’t take a deposit until we both me and the client confirm on the project. We talk about the project state what needs to be done agree on a day and time den request a %20 percent non refundable deposit for the project. I don’t collect a before we agree on the project. Once we both confirm that’s when I request the deposit. And upfront I always let them know there’s a required deposit once booking is confirm.

I agree and then thumbtack is trying to say that insta book was a link with the client but insta book is supposed to be a guaranteed job. If we do not get the job, we should not be paying an insta book fee especially if the client cancels

I have a whole client that insta booked me for a date that I was open five days out. I called to confirm the detail with the client for her to tell me she needed services that day and it was an accident. I called customer service they’re still trying to stick to. It was lead, but it wasn’t.! Part thumbtacks rule. If the details of the job change significantly I should have been awarded a refund, but they are still denying it. I am still waiting for someone to reach back out to me a week later

Yesterday I paid $178 for another insta book confirm job for four days from now. The client canceled the job 20 minutes ago. Reason it needs to be rescheduled but doesn’t know when or it we are needed! That’s a refund!
