Is anybody else as pissed as I am about Thumbtack's refund policies?

So, Thumbtack doesn't advocate for or intend to understand the overhead costs we accrue for leads on this app. I've had two customers this week decide that they weren't going to use any of the contractors that the customer contacted and Thumbtack won't refund me for these lead charges because they got the customer in front of us to "find out more info". It's bullshit imo and thumbtack should entertain the idea of letting customers cancel a job or refund contractors in this sort of situation. This app constantly pisses me off based on how poorly it is designed and slow it operates. All Thumbtack cares about is there profit margin obviously. And, don't get me started on the customer service because it is no -existent.

Im 100% agree with you. Its crazy how the things are right now with the app. I has a insta lead it cost me $50 after 25 mun the customer decided she didn’t want my services because she fixed it so I requested a rfund and I never fot and like this exampes Inhave many and theyjujust take you money

Yesssss I’m soooo in agreement with you my friend I started with Thumbtack when they were a small company charging $3.50 per quote it broke my spirit when they got to big for their britches I had to stop using their services you will do better using Nextdoor to promote your business

I have had the same problems. They don't have any form of support, I would consider. Went from being top pro last year to six jobs in a row either customer doesnt read or look at estimate, selects 4 pros and chooses the first one that replies...lol. SO why are choosing 4 people if youre choosing the first? Its all very frustrating. Thumbtack has turned into a joke with me and my community of workers here in MI.

If Thumbtack starts charging the customer maybe they will be more selective about how they behave when selecting a pro another thing I mentioned the last time I had this problem was why can’t they give the pro a credit they’re still not losing anything cause they already have our money it’s a no brainer they are wicked and they don’t want to see pros win it’s very sad how are running this business get out while you can they only do what you allow them to do that’s why I jumped ship 😃
