Thumbtack is a scam I’m sure of it

I was convinced to try out thumbtack, so I said ok if I was sure if I wasn’t satisfied I would get my money back, but the thumbtack rep later said no I couldn’t get my money back or money paid for leads that never got jobs. To top it all off she said she would help me get jobs to get my money back so I said ok but by no means do I want to pay another dollar. Guess what happen they charged my card again. Such a bad company

Thumbtack has 4.4 start out of 5 on apple app store, but 1.1 on google maps

The 4.4-star rating on the Apple App Store suggests that Thumbtack is either actively managing reviews there, or the user experience within the app (such as interface and usability) is better than the actual business dealings. Meanwhile, the 1.1-star rating on Google Maps likely reflects real-world contractor frustrations, invalid leads, billing issues, poor customer support, and the feeling of being scammed.

Apple’s review system tends to be heavily moderated, while Google Maps reviews are more open to raw, unfiltered user feedback from professionals actually using the service. This alone says a lot.

It might be worth gathering more contractor experiences and seeing if there’s a larger pattern of deceptive practices. Maybe even a class-action lawsuit like what’s happening with Angi Leads could be in the future for Thumbtack.
