"Open to Other Dates"

Hi all, I spend way too much time dealing with people who click that they are available for dates other than the one they specify when they are ONLY available for that one day and it's blocked out on my calendar.

People so, so often say "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see that option. No, it's only the 17th" and then I have to go on the message thread and say "Hi, I see you mention that you are open to dates other than the 17th. Unfortunately I'm booked on the 17th but would you be open to another day?" and have them reply "No, only the 17th" in order to satisfy Thumbtack's rigid refund policies. This is embarrassing as they know that I know that they aren't available because we talked on the phone.

Wouldn't it be great if Thumbtack would make it more clear and somehow force customers to clarify if they are open to other dates but I guess it's another way to get more money from us. Might you be open to implementing this, Thumbtack? I'm tired of sitting in endless chat sessions or on the phone trying to convince you that they didn't mean to say they were available for other dates?
