Refused Refund for non- Lead
I was contacted by someone online (unrelated to work) who I gave my link to (to read my reviews). She was a landlord responding to an email inquiring about her space.
After we spoke I asked her to cancel her request so I could get a refund. She did.
It wasn't until much later I realized I never got a refund. I contacted customer service and told them what happened. They advised me they don't refund for canceled request. I said I was unaware but since she was NOT a LEAD (and she clearly stated in the message she was just trying to reach me) I requested the refund by phone.
After being put on hold for a LONG time, I was told I could not get a refund. I was beyond the time limit for request. I responded…"It's NOT A LEAD. You cannot charge me for a NON lead!"
After speaking to the supervisor, and several emails back and forth, Thumbtack still refused to refund me.
Bottom line is, Thumbtack knowingly charged me for someone who was not a lead, and refused to refund the money.
I advised them by email, they had no right to charge me (regardless of time passed) as it was outside the scope of what they were allowed to charge me for (NOT a LEAD). They refused, repeatedly, until I gave up.
