Based on your feedback, we'll be removing instant bookings from Thumbtack on November 4th. We launched the Instant Book product to help pros get hired more quickly and more efficiently. While the experience worked well for customers, we heard that it wasn't working as intended for pros like you.

What is the difference between instant bookings and direct leads? We are still getting charged for jobs that the customer picks 5 contractors. These are the people that are either tire kickers or looking for the lowest bid without a care for quality. Both of those types of customers have little intention in actually getting the project completed. Just "seeing whats out there". And to if their cousin is charging them fairly. Pros are still spending money with little ROI.
