N.O.B.L.E. stands for Network of Black Leaders and Employees. The ERG’s mission is to foster an environment that supports and empowers Black employees at Thumbtack. In June, NOBLEtacks organized a Juneteenth celebration which featured a blues guitarist, an AfroBeats dance class and an inspirational session on the power of sharing your story. “We learn together, grow together, and celebrate the richness of Black excellence together,” says one of the ERG’s co-leads, Jenna Ostler.

Thank you for the opportunity to connect and share my opinion about how to better help black own businesses.

By help, I am not suggesting giving black owned businesses free passes.

I am simply suggesting using your outreach to clear the air and let your audience know that Black-Owned businesses can deliver quality work as much as others.

In a world where the stigma is that black people are lazy, non-working and thugs, highlighting companies like ours shed more light into the diverse black community including the pros here at Thumtack, ready to deliver without prejudice.

Promoting more black faces and businesses through your ads can be a good idea to promote a fair and competitive marketplace.

I truly appreciate the opportunity to share. Thanks.
