Community at Thumbtack - Parents
At Thumbtack, we champion the working parent. The Parents ERG was created to ensure employees who are parents and caregivers feel empowered and supported by providing a community. Improving policies and company norms is an important way the group increases internal and external visibility. The ERG hosts monthly virtual lunches where parents and allies can share funny kid stories, offer advice or just relax. “The saying ‘it takes a village’ could not ring more true — especially during a time where schedules and new norms are challenged on a daily basis. I love this community that supports and rallies around each other even in the hardest moments,” says Parent ERG member, Amanda Ganer.

Now that we have met our Parents ERG, we would love to hear from our parent pros! @mrjvijay @vancemk @jelnic2018 @mahmoodkabeil @PlexMultiserviceLLC @ggottorff001 @photosbyguillaume @JTSantini @catcher @steventhibert @puppypower @PeterJBernier @Jsupersetz_Training @robertgirau @mikeappraisalworkx @Clever_Cocktails @TranJoseph0924 @whimsicalwayne @jdinsmoor @richardeydt @itspronouncedgif @Jack @bill1967 @joshua_dixon @Paul @Allan @amillerlegal @Jubal @Bluebirdpest @palladinopt @LarryBarker @opuspainters @swarbricktax @SayHeyKP As a working parent and single mom my greatest challenge right now is balancing a very heavy workload with time to spend with my family. It has been really difficult for me to shut down "work mode" at the end of the day - I am sure because working from home makes it that much harder to separate work and home life. All of you, being entrepreneurs, surely face similar challenges! What do you do to make sure you have a good balance? And what other challenges do you face as parents and business owners? (here's a pic with me and my kiddos. They're getting so big - but in my mind they are still 4 year olds!)
