Does the price you offer affect your ranking?

I had a conversation with support about why we went down (however nothing changed) and the representative said that all other companies reduced the price since the hot season is over and that's why you went down in search. The other representative said it's not true, the list of tips how to rank better has nothing about the pricing determination.
