Are Opportunity Leads prominently seen by the customer?

I have sent out about 25 responses to Opportunity Leads and precisely ONE has even seen the message (shown by check mark). No response. Is it not easily seen by the customer that there has been a new message from an outside lead? While in contrast, vast majority of my direct leads are seen and I receive a response back.

@AbigailA generally speaking, opportunities have a very low response rate (but you don't pay for those unless the customer responds). These are sent out if a pro hasn't responded to the initial request or maybe there weren't enough pros in that area/category when the customer submitted their request. I still think it's worth it to respond, since you don't pay unless they respond, though!

Opportunities have been so truncated there isn't even enough information on the post to know if it would be even worth it even if the client responds. They used to at the very least provide a description of what they are looking to do, now all they show are basics like size and where they are located. Opportunities should just go away, and Thumbtack never makes it clear what exactly the clients sees when you submit. 99% of time it is a waste of energy to even try to get the lead through the opportunities tab.
