What Profile Update Actually Helped You Win More Jobs on Thumbtack?

One thing I’m starting to realize on Thumbtack is that customers notice effort fast.

I tested two different profile styles recently:

One looked basic with only a logo and a couple random photos.
The other had fresh job photos, a short intro video, clean before/after shots, and detailed service pictures.

The difference in customer responses was honestly noticeable.

For the pros who get steady leads here:
What media update gave you the biggest improvement?

• Better profile photo?
• Before/after pictures?
• Short intro video?
• Jobsite clips?
• Branded vehicle photos?

Would be interesting to hear what actually moved the needle for real jobs instead of just profile views.

For a home cleaning business, the profile update that helps the most is adding real photos and making the service descriptions very clear.

Customers are inviting someone into their home, so trust matters a lot. Before-and-after photos, detailed cleaning photos, team photos, and clear descriptions of what is included in each service can make a big difference.

I also think it helps to explain the difference between standard cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, and recurring cleaning. A lot of customers are not sure which service they need, so the profile should help them feel informed before they even message.

The goal is not just to look professional. It is to make the customer feel comfortable choosing you.
