  • Thank you. I do not recall the particulars of that job. But regardless the charge was high and I have several that cost me over $60. Here are 2 from last night. BTW I was surprised that I got these leads since it's been dead for so long.

Ok, I chatted with some team members about this and wondering if you can go submit a bug report here about this particular lead/issue as it does seem oddly priced (one of our advanced support team members recommended you do this)? This will at least get more eyes on it. It is too late to submit a refund request since it has been more than 30 days, but I would encourage you if this happens again to reach out to support. I know sometimes it can be hard to get through, or maybe you don't get the answer you were seeking, but I promise these team members do really care and do try heard to get things resolved. If you ever have trouble getting through to support, feel free to post here too and I can help and follow up. Sorry about this crazy lead experience.

As a former business owner I am always a proponent of diversifying your marketing spend and if that means using other platforms as well, I think that's great. In the end, what matters is that you find what works for you and your business. Obviously I hope Thumbtack will always be one of the platforms that works for you, though!

As for the current leads - first of all YAY to new leads, especially if it's been slow! If those lead prices don't seem reasonable to you I would definitely recommend playing around with your Max Lead Pricing and set that at a number you feel comfortable paying. Your portfolio seems amazing, so hopefully these turn into jobs!

  • Thank you very much. I appreciate your understanding, especially as a former business owner. Your words are comforting. I will sure come back hear if I cant get an answer. Thank you again

I have gotten two leads in the last two months. After getting three or four a week. Any updates?

@Wayne_M I took a quick look at your profile and everything looks good. I would recommend trying to play around with your max lead price/competitive level to see if that helps (even if just moving it a little bit). I would also recommend responding to your existing reviews and adding more photos as those things can help boost your ranking as well. (Linked articles for max lead price and review responses just in case you need them!).

Thank you for your suggestions. I will certainly look at those.

What baffles me is how could leads dry up almost over night. I was receiving 3-5 leads a week, and then zero. There was no diminishing. There were just no leads! That is weird!!!

    Your thoughts?

  • Hey @Wayne_M l noticed a dip in my leads too I don’t know if you use instant book or one that is forced to but my industry is and I blocked my calendar so I would not get them tt said we would still get our normal leads but you do not because instant book ties our calendar together with their search tool so your business does not show in search results if customers look up for instance need an outlet added in the next 2 days and they try to contact 3 different pros your business will not show if those days are blocked on the calendar even with targeting turned on for your business. The customers don’t see what we see when you use the look yourself up tool in app or web.

@Jeff_jtv2020 sorry if we've already chatted about this — but have you tried playing around with your availability settings instead of blocking off your calendar? ie setting that you don't want customers to be able to book you sooner than 2 days out? This might make a difference... worth trying if you haven't. You can find that in your calendar tab availability settings or in your Instant Book settings.

  • @Dustio thanks yes I have tried that I have mine set to 1 day notice and I have moved that around but it doesn’t seem to change search results only when day on calendar or time on calendar is blocked off it will make it where I don’t show to customers searching for my services during those times or days so they never have a chance to see my company as an option.

@Jeff_jtv2020 have you noticed a drop in your Listing Views as well?

  • @Theresa yes I have I was getting 150 views a week before now has dropped to 0 I’m guessing this is the reason the customers looking for us don’t see us because of calendar being blocked and them searching by pro using a time frame and not just browsing.
