Hey Bret,

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I've made several tweaks over the years but the lead quality has been horrible. Hey Bret! I could really use your help. I have been getting leads and I respond quickly. I think my pricing is good. But I've only had one lead turn into a customer. All the other leads that I reached out to never responded. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, and this is costing me money to reach out to leads who never respond. I would love some suggestions. Thank you so much. We are all pros trying to help each other. It's an amazing community that cares about each other. I am winding down my career and even as I approach retirement I still want to do a few jobs and stay involved in the community to help mentor with other pros that are just getting started. That is amazing that you're able to track that type of data I'm just a simple Blue collar person who just knows how to help work the Thumbtack system

I really like seeing experienced Thumbtack pros sharing what has worked for them. Consistency and learning how to manage leads can make a huge difference for a small service business. I've also found that having a strong online presence helps customers feel more confident when choosing a local service provider. For example , businesses like Plumbing Vista CA can benefit from combining lead platforms with their own website and local marketing efforts.

@JacobHon19 I love this point ! Building a business often means not relying on just one source of customers, and having a strong online presence alongside Thumbtack can definitely be part of that.

Winning leads is not just about being the fastest to reply. Speed helps, but the message also needs to be clear, helpful, and specific to the customer’s request.

For cleaning leads, I try to confirm what the customer needs and ask the most important questions early: number of bedrooms and bathrooms, type of cleaning, home condition, pets, preferred date, and whether they want one-time or recurring service.

That helps avoid guessing and gives the customer confidence that you understand the job.

I also think it is important to track which leads actually turn into bookings. Not every lead is equal. A recurring cleaning customer, for example, can be much more valuable than a one-time job.
